Sri Lanka Visa For Malaysian Citizens

Although, if you are holding a Malaysian passport, you must acquire a Sri Lanka ETA visa before leaving the country. Sri Lanka Visa Requirements for Malaysia

For visiting Sri Lanka, there are some requirements that you need to fulfill while applying for a Sri Lanka online visa. These requirements have listed below:

  • A legal passport should be valid for up to a minimum of six months.
  • A valid email address. Keep in mind that you should have access to this email. This would be the email from where you would apply for an online application form.
  • Fresh photos should not be older than six months.
  • A legal means of payment. You need to pay the Sri Lanka visa fee either through PayPal, bank account, or debit/credit card.

Once you have these requirements, you would be eligible to apply for a Sri Lanka ETA. You can use the same email address to get an ETA application form. When you apply for the application form, you will get it within 30 minutes.

Apply for a Sri Lanka eTA - 2022

When you get the application form, there would be three steps that you need to fulfill. These steps are as follows:

  • Step one needs you to fill up the form with your information. Moreover, you need to select the procedure type and purpose of the visa. You need to choose the means of payment.
  • Step two requires you to go through the previous steps that you filled up. Also, undergo your bank details again and again and check each and every spelling.
  • Step three needs to upload some documents. These documents comprise a scanned photo of passport front and back, your digital photos, and other required documents.

Once you have completed these three steps, you can submit your application. The Sri Lankan government would process and verify your application. It would take a minimum of 4 to 5 working days to complete the process. After the completion, you would get an approved Sri Lanka visa for Malaysia.

Sri Lank visa cost for Malaysia

If you are traveling to Sri Lanka for tourist purposes, you need to pay the Sri Lanka tourist cost, which is USD 80. Once you have cleared all the dues, you would get an approved visa. You would be eligible to stay for 30 days.

Yet, if you plan to visit Sri Lanka for business purposes, you would require to pay fees more. But this cost is more than the tourist fee. You would need to pay USD 100, and you would get an approved visa, which is valid for 30 days.

Sri Lanka visa extension for Malaysian citizen

Once you have got an approved ETA visa, you would be suitable to stay in the country for at least 30 days. If you think these are not enough days and you want to explore the country. You can apply for a visa extension. For this purpose, you need to visit the Sri Lankan Immigration Embassy. After reaching there, you need to ask for a visa extension form. Fill up the form and pay an additional extension fee. Once you are done with all processes, it would take 2 to 3 days to process your application. So, it is a request to apply for an extension before 4 to 5 days of your visa expired. When your extension application has been processed, you would be able to stay for 120 days. But, you may get the extension for 150 days if you are in Sri Lanka on a business ETA visa.
